ryanjury
Congrats just feed the fry the same food as the parents only crushed up, or bbs or decap or any number of things.. On another note did this breeding occur in a species based breeding tank with only the one species of peacock in it?

Navarre
I dont mind if you breed your fish together and I am into the africans as much as anyone. If I cant tell you where I got the folks from I will also tell you that I cant be sure. But I NEED to be sure I am Sure when I sell you something Cause I am only as good as my word. FULL STOP I think some hybrids have all the things those in favour of hybridisation claim. Vigour. Colour. Temprement etc But you dont get them unless you have "pure" stock to start with. With our ever tightening borders it is important to keep clean stuff clean. Simple as that What you do with your fish is up to you. If you wish to breed jacobergifryeri bergis with Stuartgrani then thats ok..they are all Nyassae anyway. But why when you cant gett pure fish here anymore anyway except from one or two people . In some woulrds teh breeders are deamed " the gaurdians" of breed type. Why should that be any different for us I am not here, and neither should anyone else be, to pass judgement. But not many if any ( ta Scribe) have the same morals hence all the discussion. What was asked was a fair question. It demands a fair and honest answer. If I am going to pay big $$ for my fish I need to be assured they are what I am paying for. Hope that sheds some light P44, definately gives smidey teh lecture he was asking for...lol...sory mate...couldnt resist....and hopefully makes some think about what and how they do it. phoenix44
yes, i agree with pure strains if you want them. but i can't possibly be against hybrids either. having said that i once bought some yellows that are any thing but so out they go. naming is another story though. only name if you know what they are 100%. tracy&steve - sorry about ruining your thread  (but it is expected in an african breeding thread) makes for good discussion though. ryanjury
lol it is amazing how far that comment went It was a genuine question and one and maybe trace&steve had no idea about mixing peacocks? It turns out they know about mixing them and also got them from a good source so all is good, not that there would be anything wrong with them breeding in mixed tanks as long as they were honest about it..
