spent the last 2 days removing birds from a property 40 mins drive away

tenant was evicted and left about 300 birds behind :o

signed them over to the SPCA and left

i now have 60 chickens and 70 budgies surplus to requirements

also some extra parrots as well

still need to find homes for the ones running loose left behind

cleaned out 3 large chook runs of birds and left food inside so we can trap the free range ones

bet you had fun chasing them all

lucky they've got somewhere nice to go though :hail:

we had to catch some dumped roosters that were living on the mainstreet, took a few weeks to catch all 5, even with a big cage trap setup, darn sneaky flying things lol.

*added in light of your post - thats sad

put down because they weren't cared for?

would love some parrots again one day, had cockatiels years ago but the kings are awesome

you sound like my youngest son p44 :D

don't be too quick to pass a judgement before you have walked in their shoes

many people lose sight of reality and little things become important

this was an eviction case, maybe they walked away for their sanity sake

the birds were generally in good health though most needed worming

cockatoos are in shock, they are seeing sky for the first time in a while i think

2 extra sacks of kibbled maize methinks

chickens were happy eating grass for awhile

yes. diplomacy and the ability to not pass judgement instantly and vocally are not in my genes I don't think.

at least you have them now. are the cockatoos tame or aviary?

they are there it will just take some time and life to bring them out

cockies are a semi tame pair maybe

they are standoffish
