axokeeper
I have been thinking of getting an air pump - purely for looks - in my axo tank. However I have read that axos dont like strong currents. Does anyone with axos have an air pump? I like the look of the bubble walls.... Morcs
Air pumps dont really create current, other than a bit of surface current. And get a small airpump, something like the aquaone SR2500 makes a nice amount of bubbles with bubble wand but not too high a output. If they dont like it, just remove it. Luckily they are quite cheap devices and make great backups for when filters fail.
livingart
each bubble of air as it rises carries water on its surface, the movement of the water creates current the more bubbles the more moving water this is how air powered UGF work

I had a tall tank with a big airpump on it once that seemed to get the water moving more than a 1000lph powerhead.
