There is a large piece of driftwood in the tank the discus ALWAYS hide behind. Any ideas on how to make them more interactive? That temp is just right Are they adults or juvies?,young discus tend to hide especially in a large tank like that. If you give them something to hide behind they generally take it. LYNDYLOO Posted September 27, 2009 Report Share Posted September 27, 2009 My Discus Tank sits between 29-30 When they were younger they used to hide behind the Driftwood in the Tank alot, they are definitely alot more out there these days, they normally only hide behind the driftwood now, if they are scared. Dave+Amy Posted September 27, 2009 Report Share Posted September 27, 2009 I didn't find dither fish affected my Discus - they're ALWAYS at the front of the tank when I walk in thinking I'm going to be feeding them but if anyone else walks in they're dash first then come back out, can they recognise faces? Lynnie Posted September 29, 2009 Report Share Posted September 29, 2009 Nice looking discus. Are they in a high traffic area why they hide alot.? I have a tank in a high traffic area so i put a carboard end to stop them getting frights. I have little babies who are only very tiny and they all dive to glass to see me every time i go near them.My older discus go hide when other people walk up to them.They always do if i walk up fast.
