SamH
Is it unopened? If so, try list it on TM
BikBok
i thought about that.. but there's HEAPS on there I'd be lucky to come out with $200 and then there's fees. I paid $229 and would be happy to get $ 200 for it .. but then by the time fees came out the diff between that and the new one would be too great. I also sell on EZYauctionz which is free to sell but not many buyers. I got to think this through and act fast if I do want to put it on TM. It's would have bee worth the extra $30 but not sure I want to pay an extra $80+.

Aquila
Can you return it? Say you bought it as a gift but the person already got one...
Caryl
I would do what Aquilam_11 suggests. Make sure you buy the newer model elsewhere though
bdspider
Shops aren't obliged to let you return things and get your money back, just cos you changed your mind or chose the wrong thing. You'd be better returning it for credit and using that to buy the newer one, which they will almost always do. (assuming you have receipts)
JK
Ipod Schmiiipod Take it back and say you thought it was something else. Play dumb and they may feel sorry for you and refund. Worth a shot
David R
There recently was a discussion on retail and stupid customers on another forum I read, one person had a customer return an mp3 player because they didn't realise you needed a computer to load it. :-? Exactly. The retailer can't really say 'why don't you try list it on trademe' as you could then remind them that you don't have a computer. Could even just say you thought it was an iphone.....
Aquila
The customer is always right They may only give you credit...but who cares! Go back the next day and hope to get a diff staff when you are buying the new one.
BikBok
I rang DSE but it's outside the 14 day change of mind policy - it was worth a try though. nevermind. Lesson learnt: don't buy technology gifts too early!

Maybe it's not so bad after all then.. though he does like taking vids too. Very odd that there's no still camera!
Aquila
Yeah...personally i would never rely on a phone or anything like that to take good pics. They always look so terrible. Just get a proper camera as a future gift and he'll thank you later
