Zev
Is anyone on this? I am interested to know if you notice any reduction in speed during 'peak times' from your old plan. Thanks
Ira
Heh, I'm still on Go Large...Full speed, unlimited all the time.

Caryl
We were on Go Large but shifted to Full Speed 40Gb Plan (not sure what it is called) as Grant wanted ADSL2 and full upload speed. It has never slowed down on us however the Go Large plan was obviously throttled back most of the time. This meant Youtube was useless on Go Large but the new plan has no throttling as speed for us is excellent all the time. A 600Mb P2P download usd to take 2 - 4 hours. It now takes 6 - 12 minutes. Interesting, Youtube is perfectly fine for me. And for P2P...Well, I downloaded 15 ep*Cough*files last night. I'd hate to be stuck on a tiny 40 gigs limit. supasi
Ok, skite, why don't you. My nephew is never shifting house so that he does not loose this plan! You can shift house and take it with you. I did. Im not giving it up unless they do something stupid again and offer another cool deal. Zev
His brother shifted house, and they came up with some excuse as to why he could not continue with the plan.
supasi
His brother shifted house, and they came up with some excuse as to why he could not continue with the plan. Probably because they make no money from that plan. Ha Ha Ha

Ira
Probably because they make no money from that plan. Ha Ha Ha Haha, Yeah, if I was to go with the Pro plan so I don't get throttled to dialup last month's charge for me would have roughly $1923 instead of $50. HaNs
Care to elaborate on this, Hans? They use rate limiting not shaping = bad for browsing Hmm, haven't kicked a torrent off yet, but the speed of browsing (especially when playing some browser-based games on facebook ) is noticeably slower. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now, but generally it's quite a bit quicker at this time of night... and I was under the understanding that general web-browsing (does that include browser-based games?) wasn't speed limited. Where a page would load in <5secs previously, it takes >10 now. Not cool...
Gannet
have u thought about trust power kinect??? they have some awesome plans, and if you dont use all you down load it gets carred over to next month
Wok
why don't you use the plan that Warren had. he had really really fast broadband  I am on the vodafone red network and get 5Gb of data, which is plenty for me, and I can download 700mb in 15=20 mins
Phantom
You can shift house and take it with you. I did. Im not giving it up unless they do something stupid again and offer another cool deal. You're not meant to be able to do that. You were really lucky to have it transferred. They're meant to be giving notice to the go large customers that they will be moving them to the big time plan. From what I've heard from a few different sources, the bandwidth pool for big time won't be growing at the same rate as new customers are signed on. In other words, the more customers on it, the slower the average speeds will be. However, in saying that, I know people on it that are doing hundreds of GBs already. The way big time works is that all the people on the Telecom plans that have data caps get first dibs on the bandwidth. Whatever is left over is given to the big time customers. If you're considering switching to it, I would first ask the question why. If you are wanting a whole lot of data for a low price and don't mind a slower experience, it's a great plan. If you want it but don't use a lot of data (say <30GB / month), there are probably other plans out there that will give you a much much better experience. We haven't been given notice. I have heard rumors that we're supposed to be switched over in less than a week, though. We will see what happens... Zev
why don't you use the plan that Warren had. he had really really fast broadband  We have that as well for our business, Airnet, better upload speed as well. Phantom, I was a bit wary of the 'new' plan, the suspicious bit was what they call 'peak times' 9.00am to 2.00am, it gives you a pretty small window for the faster speed. We are on the Adventure plan at the moment, and I think we will stick to it for now.

Indeed. 9am - 5pm is peak for their business customers. 4pm - 11pm is peak for residential. However, there are people that go on a bit later than that, especially gamers. If you are after the high volumes of data though, there's nothing wrong with 7 hours of full speed. That's still a good chunk of data. For me it would equate to about 50GB of data I could download per night.

Will just have to see what happens. But I wont give it up easy.LOL
