Romeo
Hey all, I find myself on that site quite often and love to list the aquariums by highest price. I just love looking at the bling eye candy. However, this one caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone thinks it's value for money - 217268021. Cheers, Alex
jc360
for two hundy its value for money not 2000. but i couldn't figure out where the plumbing is? it could be cut into the tank some how which is cool if it doesn't leak. The guys got a good eye for it and has taken some cool pics, but i doubt he's spent on it what the reserve is set at.
Ira
That's more like $600 absolute max to buy that stuff brand new, I think. Those hacked up lamps from the Warehouse being most of that price.
ryanjury
lol no defiantly not value for money As Ira said it would cost a very generous $600 at full petshop retail prices to buy all that gear new probably less if you shopped around, there is no way chucking some rocks and stuff in it and making it out to sound professional SHOULD make him 1200 profit, but I have seen worse things sell for top $$ and good on him if he does.. I can cerrtainly see the angle that he is going for and it is a nice looking setup and good photos, there are people out there who will take it hook line and sinker. phoenix44
value for money? I think not. its funny, another member on here and I were just having a laugh about the price yesterday (or was it the day before). If you want to spend that kind of money on a tank - get one made for you and customise it as you like. the rocks are very cool though, as are the discus. if you want to go for the minimalistic look you can easily achieve that for less than 1800-2000 with brand new equipment. you may even be able to squeeze in MH's if you don't shop around for prices. and if you want to spend 2K then you will get the best of everything. Adrienne
I like the look of the tank but I also don't think its a good buy. I purchased a 5ft tank with a rimu stand, sump and plumbing for under $500 last year and have since put in a new fx5, lighting, 6 discus, cardinals, fancy plec etc for what would be less than that. Shopping around (even right around NZ) and paying for things to be couriered will get you really good deals imo.
