supasi
Hi all Today I am starting to set up an area in my garage for breeding. I am running a small bank of 4 or 5 tanks at a time, and are going to use sponge filters. My question is , what do others use for an air pump? individual ones for each tank or a larger one that runs all tanks? I cant seem to see any larger one available. Where do I find these? Any idea on price or does someone have one they want to sell me? Cheers Simon
Aquatopia
I know its not local to you, but they do ship- contact Bob at Redwood Aquatics here in CHCH - he has larger ones for sale that will do multiple tanks. You will save marginally on power consumption, only use one socket, and probably wont cost you a lot more than buying 5 separate air pumps. supasi
Found this on Ebay Australia, but the cost of the unit is almost cheaper than the freight. Can these be bought from someone in NZ. This one still works out ok at about $65.00 incl freight and exchange rate

HaNs
Those ones are no good IMO Better to get a quality one or run a few 2nd hand small ones. If one fails you just plumb a new one up and shouldnt loose livestock
Zev
You missed out on a monster one at the killie show, went for a dollar if I remember correctly - bit of a noisy dinosaur!
supasi
Noise is not to much of a problem as the setup is in the shed. Im just sick of the small ones that flake out after a few months use and was hoping to do away with all the seperate plugs.
Aaron-Betta
I am running 2 of those pumps into a large rectangle made from pvc pipe, sort of a large pressure tank. going to be running air lines off the pipe, in theory, it should have equal pressure all round. hoping to run at least 18 tanks from it. GBoyd
whip down and see Nick, he offered me the Hailea "the pump" for 250 bucks. He has 2 of them used to run the shop. In fact if you can do a deal on them both I would be interested in one.
Bilbo
I have one of those and it works great for 8 sponge filters. I also have a big one that I will probably be selling soon but its a monster. I have only really used it to pump up the swimming pool :-)
ryanjury
My fish room is done with a boyu 70LPM one it is great a bit rattly but as long as you know you have to replace diaphragms its all good

carznkats
I've got one of the aquaone air pumps the model is aquaone SR12000 , it has four outlets. So might be what you are looking for, and it's not too big, not too noisy and mine is still going well after 2 years. I think tank girl might have some on sale on tm or ask your local fish shop for a price.
