lmsmith
I have some awesome bricks that made my tank look really cool: Unfortunately, they also raised my pH to something crazily high, and killed some of my fish. Can I use polyurethane to seal them so they can't leech?
lmsmith
Mine came from bunnings too!! They raised the pH through the roof, and I'm not sure if it's because they're broken, or what, but I want them to not hurt my fishies! livingart
epoxy resin should do it probably a couple of coats to ensure sealing

Looks to me like it's because they're concrete blocks, not normally inert clay bricks. Concrete will raise the PH a lot.
