Caper
Why is it that you cannot put wheels on a tank stand? Instability??? Weight??? The guy who painted my apartment a few years ago said he had wheels on his, but considering the poor paint job and the fact he used the wrong paint, wouldn't trust what he said! alanmin4304
You can put wheels on a stand but if it moved you would have water all over the place. It also means that the weight is coming down onto a very small area and would not be too good on a large tank sitting on an old timber floor. All my tanks are designed with stands that distribute the total weight over the whole footprint as much as possible.
Caper
Thanks Alan! I never thought of the weight issue which would be a major consideration, thanks! Caper

Ira
I had wheels on one of my tank's stands. Because it was built out of a metal trolly kinda thing that happened to match the tank perfectly. It was movable when full, just difficult.
