Beardie is One eyed no longer

no it is not a reference to a beardie under going a spiritual revelation

got offered a young, one eyed beardie that sold on the auction site for an over the top price at a greatly reduced price

so took it on

when we recieved it i noticed that the eye was still moving under the eyelid but the lid wouldn't open

tried moistening to prise lids apart but no go as the beardie was too young and small to exert much pressure

had to feed lots of live food, locusts etc into the terrarium as it could only see from one side

a few weeks down the track, a skin shed and now that it has grown some more i could handle it better

tried again and was able to manipulate the eyelids open to find a fully functional eye underneath :D

so we will have to change its name from Odin :o

yes was a funny auction, went for big money and then offered back at a reduced price

apparently the buyer wasn't setup to feed a young beardie properly

so seller was more concerned to get it a good home

it has been said that i was an idiot for "paying more then market price for a one eyed beardy" by someone without all the facts

it is a nice fat little beardie now :D

:D

i caught a few small ones in a net and put them in his cage didn't realise the big one was in there too

he went straight at it chewed up the wings then ate the whole thing

he is catching things better since opening the other eye

might go to show that being one eyed means you miss out on somethings in life:D
