lmsmith
Dave&Amy, what do you feed your baby? I can't stand the idea of anything that jumps or flies.
livingart
I can't stand the idea of anything that jumps or flies. it should be about what is best for the beardie
lmsmith
it should be about what is best for the beardie Apparently roaches are better than crickets, and they don't jump (or as far as I can tell, fly). I'm not sure if you can get them in NZ though.
Dave+Amy
our little guy eats anything that moves - cicadas, cockroaches, crickets, locusts, wax worms and mealworms. Refuses to touch his greens though. what's more amazing with Tequila - he only poo's on the left hand side of his terrarium very well toilet trained lol

Freakz Nz
Hi Dave & Amy, Have you tried clover or dandilion greens ? they are high in calcium and both Munch & Delilah love it ...this is the main staple of vege in their diet although they like abit of grated carrot & torn lettuce ( not to much though - high in water content) even mushed tomatoe's. Dave+Amy
haven't tried clover 'cos we haven't got any on our lawn but have tried dandelions and he didn't take to them? can't figure out why he's so resistant to veges and flowers
Insect Direct
green leaves like nasturtian, dandilion and clover are great, ive got half a dozen troughs planted with clover, parsley mint & mustard. even one big pot planted should feed the lil guy most the above plants grow like weeds. Freakz Nz
Have you tried hand feeding the dandiloin flowers , you just put it up to their nose then move it down to their elbows and rotate the stem ... they will track it and then bite .... same with most food, if it is down to the side of their face and moving it is game on ! Dave+Amy
hey Freakz NZ - will give that technique a try when I get home from Uni today seeing as we've got heaps of dandelion heads on our lawn. Just wanting to know - do peoples' beardys lose appetite everytime they peel?
Freakz Nz
Yep ... Munch is going thought a leg and head shead and he is abit off his food apart from the really tasty mealworms, mean while Delilah is scoffing down cicadas. : ]

Vee
Hi, I am very new to lizard keeping, so don't know much yet, but because I had frozen blueberries in the freezer for myself when I got Izzy, I offered some to her {defrosted of course} and boy does she love them! Easy to keep a few on hand in the freezer too. Cheers, Vee
Dave+Amy
hey Vee - it's good that your bluey (from the pic I'm guessing) isn't a fussy eater have you post'd pics of your bluey yet?
