Insect Direct Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 Evening all, Im after advice on starting a website, im a small biz and not really wanting to spend a fortune on web hosting and or getting a site built.... Came across a free website thing today which looks interesting but tbh im not really up with the play on making websites...sorta dropped out of school before getting that far :oops: but in saying that it doesnt look that hard to do Any advice, recommendations etc would be greatly appreciated, thanking you all Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

lmsmith Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 If that doesn't work, try mobile me. Its a mac thing you buy, and you can host your website on it. You just buy a domain (about $40 for a .co.nz, or $10 for a .com) and you're off. In terms of making websites, I used iWeb, a mac program and it's really really easy. lmsmith Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 You have to 'apply' to google to get your site linked; so they have an online form you fill out with your web address and some details about your site. It takes a few weeks. iWeb has a button you can add which is a search bar, but there are lots of different sorts; type html search box into google. shadowfax Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 i tried to do one last year but found inspirenet a waste of time when it came to any help at all with set up & the domain name was $90 a year & $25 per month for hosting.
