spangela
Lately i have been noticing a reasonaly high % or fry (from this season) that have out turned gil plates. I had the same problem last year, i thort it was dodgey genetics but i have changed all my breeding stock from last year. i do 25% water change twice a week with water being replaced into the ponds over the whole day as to reduce the effect of the chlorine in the water, because i dont use water ager, so it shouldnt be a water quality issue. I have been told that it could be a change in ph going from low to high (after a water change) So im not sure if other people have experienced this or knows what causing the bent gills? Cheers
anthony law
low oxgen cont in the water can cause the problem. as goldfish need high oxgenated water more so than tropical fish.
