Stella
Give it to meeeee! I want some of that in my tank again, beautiful stuff. Lush green carpets waving in the current. You probably have too much light, and possibly also too much nutrient.

oeminx
Hydrogen peroxide worked on mine. i just used 10mm of 10% in my 200L tank applied to the algae with a syringe. untreated it all looked like this 3days after peroxiding
RochelleMay
yes so it is...I did have green beard algae in my other tank, and a double dose of flourish excel clear it...along with most of the fish  Does flourish excel harm fish?? Would it fray their fins a little? I have noticed since using it my tetras and platys fins are slightly fray on the ends.
phoenix44
rochelle: take good note of this... do water changes. now and everyday for the next 5 days. flourish if used in excess - or if it causes chemical burning to your fish is about the worst thing that can happen. the fins fraying is the first sign of how terrible the chemical can be if not used in the perfect amount. hopefully your situation does not progress into any thing worse... i myself have lost more than a thousand dollars worth of fish in a single go last year cause of an accidental overdose.
