breakaway
Hi Guys, I was wondering if it would be bad if I add another filter that pumps an additional 400 LPH? Currently I have 1 Shark 1 (400Litres / hour) and an Airstone running of a 9 LT/MIN air pump. Would adding a second filter be too much current / circulation? Ira
Should be fine, you might just want to maybe point the filters at each other or arrange them to cut down on the current a bit, though, some fish like having a constant current. breakaway
Cut down on the current a bit Please Elaborate. I have 5 x Baby Angel Fish, 4 x Blue Dwarf Gouramies, 2 x Red Phantom Tetras, 1 x Bronze Cory and 1 x Neon Tetra. Do they all like the current  The New Arrival (One of the Baby Angel Fish) loves to take a bubble bath (He's always over the bubble wall)
Ira
Like if you point the filter at a rock or at the side of the tank it splashes and makes it turbulent instead of doing something like making the water in the tank spiral around until it turns into a whirlpool and all the fish get dizzy and throw up. The angels don't really like current, not sure on the rest.
Caryl
The angels and the gouramis won't like too much current. As said, the direction you point them will make a big difference.
breakaway
What if I point both the filters at each other ?
Interfecus
Pointing them at each other will mean you'll get a lot of turbulence, dissipating some of the force of the current. The other option would be to pump the water above the level of the tank to a spray bar or something.
Ira
That's what I said in my first post, Breakaway. Point the at each other.
