fish_fingers
Anyone had any issues with the above? Espically with African cichlids.
ryanjury
Bloodworms are known to cause bloat and blockages in all fish which is why I don't feed them at all.. Definitely don't feed them to your africans it is likely to cause bloat I don't think I know of any breeders that feed them, stick to shrimp or even left over mixed vege from dinner if you want to give them a treat. Your africans diet should be tailored towards what type you are keeping (mbuna/haps/peacocks/tangs).. Generally with them it is best to steer away from meaty foods and things very high in animal proteins.

fish_fingers
Thanks for the replies, some have been helpful. Let me explain further... A mate feed his african cichlids chinese bloodworms, not words, and several died...he has fed them bloodworms before but not with the brand he recently purchased, which as the post suggests are from china. I know that they cause dropsey in fighters but we/he was unsure of any problems with other fish. Thanks again, I shall pass on the information. Cheers.
