markc
What type and how much food do bristlenosed catfish babies need when they hatch?
Caryl
They live off their egg sacs for 3 or 4 days then rummage around eating what the adults eat - bottom feeder pellets, stray flakes, peas, cucumber etc. They do not need fine food as they are a resonable size and rasp their way across the pellets anyway, just like the adults do. fins
Spirulina discs are good and JBL makes a similar product (forgot the name). My friend who breeds them just keeps them in a tank near a window and theres so much algae that you cant really see anything inside the tank and he doesnt even feed them. markc
Thanks for the info. They are all hatching at the moment, like 12 are already out and they are all swimming around in their container.
Ira
A bit of boiled spinach is good for feeding them too.
markc
Should I take the empty egg shells out of the tank when they are all hatched?
Caryl
I doubt you need to. I have never seen empty egg shells as mine always bred in places I couldn't see.
