when do Red Ear turtles start breeding

Hi all, just wondering at what time do Red Ears in outside ponds start breeding and laying?

want some eggs to incubate?

hmmm I am wanting to come down and visit, :roll: I was hoping mine might give me some eggs, I just would like to have something lay and hatch to see if I can get the process right, not sure if I want any more additions though at the moment

yes would need to be picked up as the courier will probably render them duds

pulled in 6 lots will leave rest in the ground

or maybe make an omellette

how warm is their area? and getting direct sun

yeah lots of sun, I only have dirt and mulch down and the females are only 3-4 years old so don't know if old enough?

should i dig in some sand?

i have dug in a big sand bed and most lay in the dirt after digging through the stones :evil:

good on the fingers getting the eggs out

those females pack that dirt hard

and dig as deep as they can stretch their back leg out

just feed em up theyl lay in water if they have to, but once they start getting restless during the day instead of basking etc make sure they have access to lay area. or take out in the garden and put on some soft soil. kp close eye though as laying can take time makin it easy to 4get and opps off walks turtle
