Also how can I work out how many litres of water they hold? I am looking at using it for a community tank, Gouramis, angels, rams, neons, rainbow shark and whatever else suits. fins Posted August 9, 2004 Report Share Posted August 9, 2004 They are suiable for tropical fish but as the surface area they cant hold many fish. To work out the surface area divide the octogan into triangles and work from there. To work out the area of a triangle it is half base of the triangle multiplyed by the height. Caryl Posted August 9, 2004 Report Share Posted August 9, 2004 They look nice but, as fins said, you can't put as many fish in them. Most fish like width, not height, so they can swim back and forth.
