Charlie
This is my Kuda Seahorse blog. So far this is what i have got... 100cm L 40cm W 35cm H about 4cm marine sand layer 150W Sera Heater 2X Sera Plant Color (4900Kelvin) Going to go with mayby 2 large peices of LR but going to get my water sorted by next week... Am i on the correct track?
TM
I would add a skimmer and as well as or instead of get some branching coral bit for the seahorses to hang on. I also think that tank would be to low, as you would know they need height more than length.
livingart
can add skimmer as said, height alright but not if you want to breed IME
TM
IME i would say the tank is way to short, height of tank 35cm less sand (4cm)and air gap (4-5cm) which leaves about 27cm. Height of kudas between 22 - 28cm.. When i had them they were in a 500 x 500 x 700h tank. Website ref http://www.fishlore.com/profiles_seahorse.htm just one of many to check out info on Charlie
Charlie
point taken on the hight... would a 60cm cube be a better idea? If so i might just get a pair of clowns for the tank. If i had a peice of LR and one pair of clowns, should a external filter be ok???

djsurfs
Height of kudas between 22 - 28cm... Wow! where did you ever see Kuda that big?! were they yours? But I agree, that tank is definitely too short for any seahorses, except maybe true dwarves which are not available here in NZ... On SH.org they recommend for kuda minimum size 15 gallons (60 liters) and an additional 8 gallons (30 liters) per pair Sounds like you've got better plans for your current tank anyhow... Good luck! Charlie
I cant run a skimmer because I dont have the space in the cabnet for a sump. I also cant hang one off the back because of the lid design...
Rockerpeller
what about an in-tank? like a tunze or similar

Quoted from the above site, the ones i had were about 20cm ish but that was a few years ago.
