Romeo
Update Back from Hanmer, but unfortunately we couldn't find any Koura. Spent an hour or so lifting rocks in the pond/stream up there but no luck. We went back about 8pm, but as we were getting out of the car there was a freaking big feral dog outside there barking at us! So as you can tell we high-tailed it back to the hotel room and hid in bed. I'll phone the Divers in Alexandra and see if they can help me out. aquanaut
Hey romeo, Try going inland and looking. We use to find alot of small koura in the streams on the way to the westcoast.

Romeo
RE Spoon Aww, the map doesn't work for me. It's blank for some reason. Though, I've got the guy's phone number, so I might have to give him a call some time and go and get myself some more shrimpies! Cheers, Romeo

Romeo
Hey Dixon, that's a great find you've got there! There IS hope for Christchurch after all ;D! I may have to go and get me some of those freshwater mussels once my tanks completed cycling!
fishfreak
The plant in the koura tank here at southern encounter is actually plastic though it does get bent around by the little sod a bit :-) we actually feed them on koura pellets(the same stuff they fatten them up on in the farms) most of the time but of late ive been throwing in some of that stuff they wrap around sushi forget what its called. also some mussel from time to time. as for the shrimp they have been in there for a good year we had a few hundred downstairs so i figured id put 20 or so in and none have been nailed so far. Dixon1990
Last time i was at the southern encounter the tank looked a bit small.
fishfreak
Yeah its not the biggest (85ltr) hes the only thing in there other than the shrimp and he seems happy enough.
