TM
So i built a new aquarium for the house. The size is 1000 x 500 x 500 black silcone and euro bracing. I brought this stand from The Warehouse to match our TV unit. Sits very low but works well where it is sitting. Aquarium being built Aquarium on Stand 30mins after setup Water level will be topped up in a few days. I thought the driftwood would sink but not to be. Almost there just not bedded down yet. Substrate is Daltons Aquatic Mix (15mm) and Daltons Pumice Mix (35 - 45mm) Discussed in another thread.

bulldogod
Cool, does look good with black silicon.
TM
Thanks. Bit more work but worth it i think. Stand was $100 from memory, they are going out of that range so may not be to many left.
paekakboyz
was there any need to add a central brace? what is the stand made from? other than that it looks sweet - really like the black silicone it makes a nice frame for the tank. There is no need for a centre brace, it has euro bracing and is only 500mm tall 10mm glass. Not 100% sure on the stand, some kind of laminate

Aquatopia
to feed the piranha ??
TM
piranha, no. They are in the tank out back. Killis would look good. My instructions are to put something bright. Would like some discus but a bit unsure after a chat the other day.
Aquatopia
What makes you unsure about discus ? Killies are nice but you have to look for them cos the are small (well thats what I found when I had the Australes). What about Rainbowfish TM ??? evil_elmo
tank looks good tim, black silicon rocks! glad you found a nice bit of driftwood
TM
Think discus would be to big for the tank, would like a school of smaller fish. Killis will be an option. Did find some wood at the other branch evil elmo, $11.00 pretty cheap.
dimebag
nice tank, would be sweet for a pair of discus.

TM
Please excuse my ignorance - but what is a euro brace? Basically just glass round the edges and no centre brace.
Dixon1990
You could stock it with Rams, Cardinals, and Cory/BNs

Aquatopia
A nice group of Debauwi catfish would be lovely - I had them back in Europe - not even sure if we get them here. this is a link to a pic and details;- http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/catfi ... uwicat.htm Very similar to eutropiellus debauwi
Caper
Love the tank!!! I didn't know what euro bracing was either. :-? So, if I'm understanding correctly, it's sort of like a tank within a tank, so to speak?? Is it glass against glass? Caper
