Am still battling this crap stuff. Whatever it is, it's probably a mixture of many things in my tank, specifically:

- crap lighting (fluoro's)

- overstocking (9 fish to 400 litres)

- poor water flow (one 1060 on SCWD, couple of power heads, seaswirl on 1060 at low flow rate)

Not too interested in completely irradicating it at the moment - just keeping it under control. When the new tank goes in, there will be:

- better lighting (2 x 250W 10K MH's)

- better stocking levels (9 fish to 1,000 litres)

- better water flow (two 1060's on SCWD's with rotating flow nozzle outputs, sea-swirl on Iwaki at high flow rate, LR sitting on reef-rack for good bottom flow)

only the phosphate remover bags that you buy, 3 of them sitting in the sump for about the last month. there is no phosphate present currently (there was about 2 months ago). nitrates are present but very low (higher 2 months ago - nitratereductor must be helping here). there is nothing except what is listed above that would cause the cyano. have been doing 20% water changes weekly with ASW in the 3 weeks.
