antznz
how long can it be before I can try again (Avg) before she could get eggs again?
Matthew
move her to a different tank and feed her up on plenty of live food - I used to find them ready to spawn again in about two weeks - sometimes earlier. Good Luck for next time

Adrienne
still yet to have luck with breeding. Wish I knew what i was doing...lol Have a read up of the following sites - www.bcbetta.com & www.bettatalk.com. They are pretty good or just good breeding betta splendens. The guidelines are pretty similar and seem to be accurate. You can contact me and come over for a look at what I do if you wish. Just pm me. I am in Epsom near Market Rd. Guest
So have you tried to breed them again? Some pics of your fighters would be nice I always like looking at other peoples fighters. If he doesn't like the cup I'd use a plastic lid. My male doesn't use a cup but can build a huge bubble nest ovcer night under a lid. It all depends on your male. What type of fighters are they? Where do you house all your male fighters??

Veil tails mainly I Believe. Males are held in Holding containers with Community tank which house 8-9 Females. Am soon to be getting my thrid Tank Tonight with 2 or 3 more Fighters. Guest
Chech amonia. I had an amonia spike and killed alot of fish but lucky my fighters were in my tank thats always healthy so they made it.
Adrienne
Could be several reasons - the most likely one being stress. Fish need time to settle into their new environment. Sticking them in with a male or near males, fiddling around too much shifting them around or whatever will cause it. Leave them in peace for a few weeks. antznz
thanks ever so much... seems they had problems at jansens botany at the time (I have had great luck breeding with a couple ive bought from breeders in auckland) have fry about a month old now & can't wait till they grow up to see the colours etc
melrick1
even when you do all your research and prep these guys are still tricky ay. I have got mine to breed successfuly but it all depends on the fish and the setup and timing. Its quite an art. It took me a long time to get mine going but with pacience and keep at it you will get it.
