jimboNZ
Hi all, My 260L is fully set up and running really well (except for a little algae ) and am trying to think of fish to put in. At the mo I have: 9 Neon Tetra 10 Harlequin Rasbora 6 assorted male guppies 1 Male siamese fighter 5 assorted cory's 2 bristlenoses Looking for maybe a few more (if im not at capacity already?) to fill the tank with, keeping in mind that I have a siamese fighter so phantoms, dwarf gouramis and fin nippers are out Cheers for the help
Guest
I'd get a few platys (sunset and blues being my favourite). They're always at the front they're colourful and they breed really easy.
jimboNZ
Ive had a look at platties but the ones at the local stores dont really appeal much in terms of colour
jim r
What are your favourites?
jimboNZ
I really like my harlequins so maybe I could add more to them. I like colourful and/or interesting fish, preferably not expensive too
sharronpaul
If it was me I would go with some livebearers, say three or four swordtails (remember to have only one male or the females will be a bit overworked) and maybe a similar amount of mollies. They're real easy to keep and will leave everything else in the tank alone. As far as being at capaciy, the rough guide is 1cm of fish per litre, so if your rasporas are 4cm, allow 4L of water each and so on for the other fih in your tank. Just a rough calculation, dependent on how often you waterchange, how much you feed, etc etc. I reckon you're at about half capacity at the moment for a stable setup. Slightly Blue Dalmation
some more neons maybe? bigger the school the more impressive they look IMO
jimboNZ
Today I added another Panda Cory (I already had 1 in there with 2 leopard cories and 2 bronze cories) and another neon. I think I might add to the harlequin rasbora shoal and add some glowlight tetras later on
Foxglove
So far so good! :bounce: I'd add 20 more neons and 10 more harlequins, then a dozen or so glowlight tetras. All the schooling fish look wonderful in large groups - at least 10 of each. It sounds like you're going to have a great-looking tank!
