Wild Plants

I'm a little confused on this one...

Yesterday I decided to go hunting for some 'wild' glosso and ended up with half a shopping bag full :o

Anyway, I'm not too sure what to do about pests/unwanted organisms that are attached to it.

I rinsed it several times and let it soak overnight with some salt added but I can still see the tiny worm things wriggling around.

Any solutions? :-?

Or be cheap and use bleach dip

I mix appox 10 litres of water with two capfuls of PURE(non scented) bleach

Dip for two minutes then rinse well in clean water with some water ager added.

Pot' permanganate works better thou, but not as readily available.

Decided to try the bleach solution first, however... there were way more creepy crawlies than I thought.

Were a few centipede and shrimp looking things that weren't actually shrimp and just seemed like too much hassle.

So.. since it was just 3 giant clumps decided to take a couple of the healthiest looking parts and just use them. So now I'm down to 3 small pieces from 3 huge clumps.

Got Co2, PMDD and high lighting so hopefully something will come from it!

Can't complain if it doesn't though since I got it for free :P

Oh right :P

I just remember seeing in some old post somewhere that you said you worked at Underground Arts.

Me and the partner were wanting some work done so just thought I'd enquire  lol

Right, errr... plants, aquatic plants, glosso, fish.

Still on topic... right?

Hard to explain exactly... but wanting a full sleeve on my arm, slowly worked on of course. Going to be a dark, gloomy looking tree with the base/roots of it starting on my hand and wrapping around my fingers, the main trunk of the tree being on the arm, then it branching out at the top where my shoulder is. As the years go by I'll slowly add bits and pieces into the tree that play a significant role in my life at the time. Kind of going to be my tree of life as nerdy as that sounds lol

Partner is wanting this, however it's a bad picture and the only one I could find on the net...

Where exactly would one find wild glosso?

I just found some in a small stream about 5 mins from my house.

It's an NZ native so can be found in streams and lakes all over the place, just have to hunt around a bit first.

Remember:

Only take what you need. Alot of NZ waterways are damaged or destroyed by introduced pests and development. We dont want to damage thm more than we have to.

Not getting at anyone, just a genral reminder.
