Foxglove
Hi, I have two lionheads (also called lumpheads, humpheads, buffaloheads...) The bigger one is dark blue grey, definite big hump and very secretive. The other: I just wondered if anyone thinks this is also a male? Sub-dominant, definitely, and they hang out in different areas of the tank, but don't fight at all. Opinions?
smidey
i have no experience with those but you can gaurantee what he/she is by venting it.

Afrikan
I am thinking the one in picture is sub dom male. Just a hunch... the females we have had in past have had very flat heads compared to the one in pic. We only ever had the one female that had a slightly rounded hump. malawiman
I bought a pair from African a while back. They male is about a third bigger than the female. I also have two more in my community African tank, male is about 12 cm and the other 7 cm. My breeding pair the male has a bigger lump than the female. They have around 30-40 fry at the moment and I just sold the last of the previous batch. They are stunning and full of character. Hope you get them sorted.
