Guppy Clarification!

Me and a friend (on here) have been chatting, and I would like to make sure I am sort of right  for my own benefit.

What is the difference between guppy colouring!

Mainly the difference between, blonde, golden, yellow and "snow"

Is golden and yellow the same as "blonde"

and what is the term "snow" used for?

Obviously Albino is a guppy with red-eyes!

I am talking about PURE colours, not yellow with snakeskin patterns, just straight colour with straight names, hope that makes sense.

Ira is right, it depends on the person calling it wants to call it.

Blond and gold are actually two different types of mutations. Both appear to have yellow bodies instead of the normal grey.

To simplify terms, a blond is like an albino with dark eyes while a golden is like a yellower blond guppy that has small quantities of black around it's scales giving it a darker yellow effect like bronzed up.

According to the Guppy Designer website different countries call it differently as in:

In the USA the blond is called gold while the gold is called bronze

In Asia the blond is called gold while the gold is called tiger

In Europe the blond is called blond while the gold is called gold

Scientifically the blond is blond and the gold is gold just like what europe calls them.

To make things worse, there is also a pink type which is a blond without yellow colouring in the body.

However, Snow a differnt type altogether it is actually white platinum, the fish has white metallic sheen on the whole body including the tail.
