Barrie
I know the normal way to distroy eggs when finished using them is to boil the mops but boiling tangles them so what are your thoughts on microwaving them?
alanmin4304
Good thinking----Would work OK provided they were wet. Microwaves work on the water. Don't know about the floats though. I think I will try and see next time.

carla
All of mine have lost interest too. Must be too hot for them? I wondered that too - hardly any eggs and the eggs are not even hatching. They get lots of live food at present, but yes - maybe too hot? Adrienne
I've only managed to get any of my fish to resume breeding in the last few days IMO too hot, too settled.
Barrie
Its just the Striatums that have lost interest althought the Bitaeniatum are a bit slow as well. Mind you, I find that I rearly get many eggs from them anyway
alanmin4304
We have had a wet week and I have managed to get eggs from nigerianus yesterday. Have had them before but they wouldn't hatch. I found recently that most strains were laying eggs on the bottom rather than on the mops and the eggs were no good. Got these off the mops so see what happens.
