Naz_Nomad
Go Black. Blue is ok but needs to be dark to work well. Avoid patterns/plant scenes etc. Just my opinion.
Ianab
My lounge walls are painted a fairly dark blue, so I haven't bothered with backgrounds, the blue wall behind looks pretty good as it is. Cheers Ian
anthony law
athor opinon is take the color of you gravel or sand and paint the same on the back to give you a river bank the same as the base....
Slightly Blue Dalmation
well substrate is close enough to black so i might go with that, the wall behind it is cream so not so good plus will hide pipes etc
Darrell Quadling
I use fabric held in place with 'velcro' this allows me to change if I want but more important on large tanks if you get a 'marbled ' type fabric it gives greater depth. I use a brown marbled for my amazon tank and if the 'join ' between the bottom gravel & background is hidden with planting or driftwood you get great feeling of depth. I also use sand with high pumice content.

livingart
have a black fading to blue at the top background on our aros, it looks good and they stand out on it, also makes tank look wider
Rozski
I have a black background, and it looks good. Bought some plastic backing stuff from the LFS, same as every store stocks usually. Handy thing is the black is usually blue on the other side, so you can choose either or when you get it home
