Dixon1990 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 I have been in the process of setting up a 3'Lx2'Hx1.5'D tank for the las few months but have now decided to sell the tank and buy one not as tall to make it easier to maintain. So i am going for a 96cmL*45cm*45cm. I have been building a list of fish i want to have in here in my head, but have just written them down and it looks to be too many fish. It will be planted and have a Fluval404. The ist of fish i had in my head was. Tetras- 5 Emperor 7 Black Widow 6 Penguin 5 Neon 5 Glowlight Catfish- 1 Hoplo 3 BN 12 Cory 4 Whiptail And 2 Altum and 4 albino scalare( these will only be in here until they are bigger.) The only problems with keeping to 2 together is that sometimes the angels when large will eat the.and i said i will take the angels out whe they get bigger. evilknieval69 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 why would you sell the bigger tank to get a smaller tank, just because its tall? 2' is nothing these days, and is very easy to maintain. no different to any other tank...... It makes the room look way too small and the stand is too tall so when the tank is on it it is about 1.5m and not very sturdy and wobbles alot. And no Beams in the wall to support it. richms Posted January 23, 2008 Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 Correct, beams are for floors, the wall will have studs and dwangs/nogs, either of which you can attach to. If you cant find them then borrow a studfinder because there will be something holding the drywall up, has to be since it cant stand on its own. There will be at least 1 stud behind the tank (unless its in a doorway lol) The tank is 900 long, studs are placed every 450 or so (i think, please correct me peoples!)
