jim r
They should survive for 10 days without any problems (always better to underfeed than overfeed)
tonka
Your LFS will sell feeding blocks , that you put in the tank and the fish can nibble at them , and most have a pocket of food in the centre aswell. Or a better option would be to buy an automatic feeder. The best in my experience would be an EHEIM AUTOFEEDER . these were on special at Hollywood Fish Farm ,Mt Roskill last time i was there. Caryl
They will be fine. No need for feeding blocks (which can foul the tank) or auto feeders (which may jam). The pond weed and duck weed will be good.

Stella
I am going away for a week and am getting a friend to come and feed them. He is rather fishy I am trying to put a bit of weight on some of my fish, and my new torrentfish have ich so he is going to do waterchanges and keep medicating them. If I was getting a non-fishy person to feed my fish I would get small zip-lock bags and make set portions and write down very strict instructions, as well as show them how to do it (reduces worry for both parties)

Stella
gone in ten seconds!! Though i guess following the same 'pre-packaged' idea (to avoid overfeeding issues if getting someone else to help) you could put your live food in meal-sized pots and put them in the fridge, which slows down their metabolism so they live longer in a small pot. But the others are right, they will be fine for a week or so without food if you can't/don't want to get someone to feed them.
Kelsta
My goldies get very cranky and start acting aggressive when they miss their meals  So my first choice is preparing each day's food in little zip-lock bags for someone to feed for you. The $2 shop have good ones. Make sure you don't leave the fish food container lying around or it will be very tempting for your friend to overfeed them! Otherwise I have heard the automatic feeders are good, though I've never used one.
