Cheesejawa
Where can you get flat rocks that will not react with the water?
michael.qian
I think they are slate rocks. Pet shops sell them for a few dollars a piece I think.

OscarBoy
oh i didnt no they were round.. Caryl can u still stack them?
Caryl
If you're careful. I imagine they could be broken in half too. If I think of it tomorrow I will give it a go and see if I can get flat edges.
ryanjury
I use limestone rocks to get the PH up in my african tanks. You can also use river rocks which are cheap (free) if you can find them
OscarBoy
ok caryl let me know how it goes please? also just wondering what was thr price to get your pond done?
Caryl
No idea of cost as it was done as part of the whole landscaping of the section plus redoing the verandah

ryanjury
the limestone rocks I have are very porous too, they break apart very easily so much so im worried to just grab one side of the bigger ones when moving them because they might snap in half.. And yeah I stack mine almost 600high its a mission but as long as your careful it works.

OscarBoy
Ok, but I will just tell you this my pleco around 32cm some how manged to tip my massive boat in the tank over. the ones you get from animates that come in 2 halves. michael.qian
limestone will slowly dissolve and act as a buffer so it'll raise pH of your water. I wouldn't use limestone unless I need a high pH.
snookie
Ok, but I will just tell you this my pleco around 32cm some how manged to tip my massive boat in the tank over. the ones you get from animates that come in 2 halves. whats that got to do with aquarium rocks ?
