nemines
wat sort of fish will you be keeping?
henward
depends on fish community wiht non meat eating fish small canister or two internals is ok if you keeping anything like arowana, cichlids, africans (cichlid not actual africans) and discus i suggest you go for a bgger exter canister, or two. or jst buya big one canister like a fluval 405 or 1 aqua one 1200
Smax
probably keep blue rams or something along those lines
henward
i dont particularly believe that a big filter is needed for rams perhaps a big internal or small external canister would be good add some plants in there would make a nice eco system and add to your bio filtration
ryanjury
Buy the biggest and best you can afford it will save you money and time in the long run However if your going to lightly stock it you could get away with a large internal, or even sponge filters if its very lightly stocked! henward
yeah thats always true in alot of cases but the problem is the biggest and best canister is hundreds of dollars, even a small fluval 103 is 200 something dollars aquaone 1200 is 130, thats a good way to go if you want best bang for your buck buy aqua one 1200lph canister on trade me plenty there, only about 120 dolalrs and you really cant beat them value for money
ryanjury
Agreed of 819 jebo but aqua one is cheaper and I haven't had any trouble with my cf700's..
paekakboyz
I run a Jebo 819 on a 360l tank and it does a good job - stocking level isn't too high and its heavily planted as well. You could start out with a cannister that is specd for the size of your tank - if you add more fish just add an internal or something... tHEcONCH
It is cheaper in the long run to buy a big filter in the first place, rather than a small one now and a bigger one later when you decide to keep different fish. I personally like Eheim - quiet, reliable, and spare parts are available should you need them. Antimates often have older models on special and in the bargain bin - check them out - or else I have a second hand Eheim you can buy - I'll put an ad in the buy/sell section.
