sharn
Cant get many other parachromis that im aware of. I wanted some Red Mota's but couldnt find any, dont know if theyre even on the import list. Youve got your usual midas, oscars, JD's (there was some EBJD's on the list), a few rarer geos are floating around and so on...
Ira
Green terrors aren't bad, and are pretty colorful. Geo. Surinamensis are nicely colored, Geo. Braziliensis. Gold severums are obvious.
David R
If you want something colourful, interesting, big and rare then find someone who's willing to import a bunch of red terrors from someone like Jeff Rapps in the US. They're on the list (Under Cichlasoma festae, not Amphilophus festae). Females in breeding colour are one of the best looking cichlids IMO. Afrikan
Green Terrors are fab... just have to watch the aggression when they mature... they can live up to their name, we keep them, and well worth keeping 8) Nicaragua Cichlids are nice when mature, the males and females colours are fantastic.. we have a pair of those... they look nothing as youngsters but are stunning when they come into their own with colour... Quetzals (Red Heads) are more common now... they can be a real pain in the butt if you are keeping an aggressive community tank... We had 4 nice size ones, and one decided to try and carve everything up in the tank, including it's own species... you often see people trying to sell them on TM and hubby has had people coming into the stores asking if they are interested in taking their Red Head on. We have Geophagus steindachneri, they are gorgeous fish, full of personality... something a little different. It's great when it's time to hunt around and find what you want 8)
SpidersWeb
Red Devils are a pretty cool fish. Ones I've seen in NZ are pure white, or a dark yellow, but full of personality.
anthony law
can you get them red heads who do you get hold of to in import them .a male and feamale then.are they on the list.
Afrikan
They were on the list not so long ago... could still be maybe.. you will have to grow them on a bit tho to sex them... if you breed them, you will have a heap of live food for fish keepers, as rather a few people end up parting with them because they are "pain in the butt". The males and females can end up killing each other too, some are bred with a partition between the two, depends on the fish and their aggression

anthony law
reds heads are diffrent to red devils as the red head has diffrent markings i belive more colorfull. i got lots of live food as i have a platys i breed as feeders for my other fish.also mirco worms etc, home made ox heart repices so i dont have a problem feed them,
David R
reds heads are diffrent to red devils as the red head has diffrent markings i belive more colorfull. It depends on your definition of colourful, but yes, they are completely different fish. I'd much rather have a pair of A. festae than either of them, if you can find someone who will import them....
