michael.qian
What do you reckon is the hardest fish to catch? Especially in a heavily decorated or planted tank. Few days ago it took me about 30 minutes to catch the last leopard danio, with two nets, tank is decorated and fairly well planted, had to basically take out all the decorations and some plants. Long time ago it took me almost 2 hours to catch a chinese golden algae eater, but only with a small net that time. So it kind of teaches me to think carefully about what fish I buy, in case I have to sell them and get super frustrated having to catch them. Any stories anyone like to share? Mel1708
I find loaches really hard to catch too fast and tricky! Kuhli loaches are the worst!

Keri Anne
The only hard fish to catch is the one you are after... all other fish will calmly swim into the net.

Ianab
I'd say a small pleco, if the tank is planted and decorated then you may never FIND it, let alone catching it. Plan on dismantling the tank, it will be quicker. Unless you are trying to catch something else, then it will probably swim into the net  Ian. MarkLB
I've found , like others have mentioned , that the best thing to do is first remove anything that can be removed...it ends up being quicker and you also get an oppurtunity to have a good clean and/or rearrangement. I learned this the hardway......by ripping nets on rocks while trying to catch Malawis.
michael.qian
some fish are easy enough though, I caught all the neon tetras I've sold with no problems, also 16X white cloud mountain minnows pretty easily as well with a small net. Also my male betta is easy to catch, basically one scoop and it's guaranteed in the net.
herefishiefishie
Anything small & skittish in a planted tank, ie; loaches. Same to rock work tank, ie; demasoni, loaches  Frenchy
antwan
Yea, I can remember kuhli loaches being a right pain to catch. What really helps is if you can catch them right after turning the lights on, or leaving them off while they're still asleep, so much easier, especially with tetra's. cichlid7
the last fish is the hardest to catch because you have to catch all the other fish before it becomes the last fish.

becc4
yep i reckon loaches. I'm having a right ol time at the moment trying to net some Skunk loaches. I get one, then the rest duck into gravel pits they have dug. Yoyo loaches were bad too.
HummingBird
From my experience in a pet shop, I'd have to say Chinese Algae Eaters by far. All the fishos I work with agree with me too - nothing else compares.
