livingart Posted August 9, 2007 Report Share Posted August 9, 2007 we run adults in fully planted enclosures, potting mix sand etc, but wouldnt run young animals on same footing potting mixes can contain bacteria and pathogens harmful to young lizards and even humans Also the temp you need to keep them at will dry out plants, so you will need to water more often which will raise the humidity, which will make a lovely environment for fungi and moulds that might impinge on your dragons respiratory system In an enclosed system there is not the airflow there is in a bigger environment as repto said on another thread, at the price they are why take the chance :-? Was looking at native grasses as they survive in harsh conditions that are dry and windy.
