I am aquiring two more external cannister filters today - second hand - and want to make sure nothing comes into my breeding tanks when I set them up. Can the media be sterilised - not the sponges etc as I know how to do those but things like the bio balls etc and those little things that are white and sort of brick like looking (can't remember their names) or should I just get new.
