Stress Coat and Cycle

They are designed to do different things.

Stress coat is a general tonic that helps fish regain their slime coating after being moved, injured or stressed. Also removes chlorine from the water during water changes.

Cycle works to help seed your tank with good bacteria to set up the nitrogen cycle in a new filter when you first set it up.

You shouldn't NEED to use either as a day to day thing in the tank, but they may be usefull in the right situation.

Cheers

Ring your local council and they can tell you if there is chlorine in the water supply. If there is you should use water conditioner as it will neutralize the chlorine, monochloramine, dichloramine and trichloramine, all of which are disinfectants and therefore not good for fish. Put stress coat down to experience and try to avoid buying stuff from the pet shop that you don't realy need and you will have more money to spend on good stuff like fish or plants.
