Barrie
what do people do say at Xmas time if your away for 2 or 3 weeks Is there a prefered "slow release" food that can be used or do you rely on friends Thanks
Caryl
If longer than 10 - 14 days I put doses in a daily pill container then get house sitter to empty dose into tank on alternate days. Also hide all other fish food.
alanmin4304
The problem is that my killies are that spoilt they only eat live food and even eat decap brine shrimp reluctantly.
Ianab
I like Caryls idea with the ration boxes. Your fish will survive on 1/2 their normal feeding fine for 2 weeks and it reduces the chances of anything going wrong with the tank water. My fish aren't allowed to get fussy Cheers Ian
Barrie
thanks for the help What would be the longest you could leave them without food... just that it helps with the planing of trips away Looks like a weekend is fine but would say easter be ok? seems a bit long to me? evilknieval69
You could probably leave adult ish fish up to 10 days or so without food. Babys need it mroe often though
Caryl
Assuming you are not feeding fry, and the tank is mature, I leave mine up to 2 weeks.
caserole
I agree with Carly, Although if you have Nothobranchius they may be a little thin on your return, a good feed up will have them right as rain in know time.
