bli
Hi Bulldogod I dont know much about Orandas myself but, if you havent already, go check out Patricks range at Goldfish pagoda over in Pakuranga. He has a wealth of knowledge and some excellent Goldfish. I am sure he will be able to answer all your questions
sharn
thats just how they are, they were selectively bred to get that growth (or whatever it is). im not sure if a bigger head means better or if shape matters and so on
fishboi
Do they all grow big heads like that yes, they need to have the head growth to classify as an oranda, otherwise it would just be an fantail does anyone here have them or breed them yes and yes do some have bigger heads than others????????????? yes, its comes down to genetics and diet. Discusguru
Big wen and short, deep body are some of the quality of oranda. ron

Alan
I think the lionhead is the same as the oranda but NO dorsal fin.
sharn
Ive seen those lionheads before, at first i coulnt pick out what was different about them  surely having no dorsal fin would effect their swimming abilities?
Wok
It does to a little extent. that is why you don't keep them with comets, just other fantails. very hard to get good lionheads. Orandas are very nice but you pay to get nice ones.
