Dixon1990
Hi i am currently saving up for a bigger tank like a 3-4 footer and was also thinking about getting black ghost knife fish. But i need to know if it would be friendly to my fish? i have 2 dwarf gourami, 8 tiger barbs, 3 rosy barbs, 3 volcano rasboras,2 albino kribensis, 1 male bristlenose and about 5 baby ones, 2 dwarf loaches and 3 kuhli loaches. TimTam22
Should be sweet, I had mine in with similar fish!
dave01
I recon it comes down to the old size of mouth rule. If it'll fit in its mouth and its hungry, it may end up there. tough call though as tim tam said they can be fine too.
Southerrrngirrl
And they do have a rather large mouth too. see this pic here I researched these fish a while ago, I found that mostly suggested that the weren't the ideal community type fish, and that they should be with fish simliar to its size and have a peaceful temperament
fishtv
I have an AR620 tank with 6 tiger barbs, 2 wild mollies, one sword (male), Black line flying fox and 2 bristle's. would it be a stupid idea to add a lil black ghost into there too? Cheers, shaun
Southerrrngirrl
A "lil" black ghost will eventually become a BIG black ghost. Apparently can grow to 20 inches (50 cm). Minimum recommended tank size 90 gal (340 litres).
Tsarmina
i currently have a 10cm BGK (Zippy) in a guppy based community tank. i am waiting for it to get a little larger before i put it in a knife only tank with the 22cm one (Mac) we have. Afrikan
BGK will eventually take smaller fish out... they can fit more into their mouths than ya realise  I used to have a reasonably large one and he would quite happily have a go at fish smaller. It is also a shame that they are so readily available as southerngirl said they grow LARGE and end up needing a very big tank. I saw one last year that was HUGE... and when they are larger you can see their mouth in more detail.. it is almost hinge like. Beautiful fish
Tsarmina
BGK will eventually take smaller fish out... that was partly my plan  if the one in my guppy tank can help with population control, then thats all good.
