lamnidae
Puntius sachsi\puntius semifasciolatus..golden barbs.Any one breeding these nice little fish?Looking for some females to increase my gene pool.
Caryl
Are you breeding them outside at the moment? Is that why you have put this in the coldwater section? Although they will tolerate cooler temps, they are not a coldwater fish. I breed my barbs outside in a plastic pool over summer but they can't live there all year round in this area. owen
I put my rosy barbs in my pond because their tank got too hot over summer. Will they be ok outside in winter on Waiheke Island over winter? or should I put them back inside soon before it starts getting cold outside? Caryl
I don't know what night time temps are on Waiheke Island but if it drops below 18C I would bring them in over winter.
Alan
I had mine outside all year in Whakatane, until the floods came and washed them and my rosy barbs away
Caryl
So what temps do you get there Alan? We get a good layer of ice on ponds here and mine had no cover or shelter of any sort.
