I am setting up a fishroom for coldwater species and am getting goldfish, minnows and maybe paradise fish but would like anything else different... Do you have the names of the particular species? They will also breed quickly, and keep those mosquitos at bay Not really suitable with goldfish, because the goldfish (assuming the cat doesn't get them) grow easily to a size that will suck up the poor wee white clouds. alextret Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 My minnows happily coexist with mosquito larvae. They do eat some, but not all of them. Skoll Posted February 8, 2007 Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 Just been thinking about the description of what your pond is. Do you mean that you've dug out a part of what is effectively a stream passing through your property? If that's the case then introducing any fish could be "bad" or possibly illegal, as it would effectively be introducing the fish directly into the wild.
