well, i have put a dish of peat/coir in the tank and the pair has been visiting ...but i have no time to see them doing what they ought to do so when do i take the dish out? if the dish is left there indefinely, what would happen?

hi, i am thinking of using aluminium or thin metal sheet for my breeding tank, would rust harm the fishes? also thinking of decoration on of my tanks with a "rusty" tin can!

i set the to 26c and after just a short while it goes off. but the thermometer shows 22. i set it to 30c but it clicks off after a short while...i touch the water and its still cold...whats going on? a dude heater?? :-?

i bought this big air pump that has eight outlets so the question is whether it can run 27/7 day in day out without a break? how long would it last? and there is a "outlet" in the rear which seems to be for a hose connection. what is it for? a filter perhaps?

so this two groupings would work! thats great! as for the fish room, i have the whole garage and heating might be costly. i could seal of the fish stand and turn it into a warm cupboard! would putting two tanks side by side and having the 300w heater in one work?

i bought a second hand visi-therm 300watt heater, no instructions, and never use one before so the question is --> 1. what happens if it breaks? will the fish fry? what are the % likelyhood of the fish keeper being electrocuted!! 2. min water level mark--> do i need to turn it OFF if i change water and it drops below the min level? 3. i have seen pictures of heaters totally submerge, does this model work that way? if so can it be place flat /horizontal at the bottom?

just bought myself some yellow apple snails before joining this forum. thought it would help clean aquarium But there seem to be lots of questions here about how to get rid of snails!! so before i introduce them into my tanks, am i looking for trouble and more work then warranted? a lot of diferent snails are also sold on TM are there good and not so good snails? advice me i am starting goldfish and killies

i am looking for a breeding pair of goldfish, what is the easiest type and fuss free to start with? and how much would such a pair cost approximately?

hi i have just dug a hole in the ground, roughly 2feet by 6feet about 30 inches deep. it has a small constant flow from a "hilside spring" . what sort of fish would be suitable for this wellington pond? thanks for the advice

bought them from TM a trio of P82's 1 x trio of gardneri nigeriatum 1 x trio of australe choc's 1 x trio of australe gold's 1 x trio of gardneri nigeriatum pairs of degati if i put them together, would they not cross breed? all my tanks have no covers!

hi all just caught the fish bug....bought a couple of tanks but still looking for fishes...any recommendation? bought some killies on impulse but thinking more of goldfish wheres the best place to get fish and supplies in wellington?
