Fishkeepa
I remember seeing a thread on fresh foods people feed their fish but cant find it. Im looking fresh foods that GBA's would eat. I have tried Courgette/Zuchini and Cucumber and i know lettuce can be fed also but can things like capsicum and fruit like apple and pear be fed? thanks :bounce:
Insect Direct
I dont see why not, maybe worth a shot, ive tried slices of potatoe and they seem to eat that and tomatoe but I did lose a whole batch of fry around the same time lol but could of been a number of things ie - the spuds were a tad green-got slack with water changes-had hydra infestations etc so now i just stick to pleco chips, trout pellets which they seem to eat but are abit messy, little bit of spirulina flake, and cucumber and ocassionally bloodworms! fattythecatty
Mine eat shelled peas, they seem to love them in fact all my fish eat them, they don't last long in the tank!!
shadowfax
i feed my bn's slices of spud but give it a rinse before i put it in the tank & take it out the next day if its still there, also sliced frozen green beans & i rinse those & take out whats left the next day aswell. Fishkeepa
The replacement looking good. They like to chase each other around the tank. Thanks people - I will try them with peas, if it works it works, if not back to the fridge  Any body fed capsicum?
alanmin4304
Since capsicum is the basis of pepper spray it may be better left in the fridge.
Caryl
Try all sorts of fruits and veges to see what it likes.
antwan
I've fed capsicum before to my bn and they ate it much faster than they did with the cucumber.
evil_elmo
i feed my BN pumpkin, its cheaper than Courgette when you are on a tight budget
sharn
make sure you shell the peas
Insect Direct
ooops whys that sharn, ive just chucked some peas in the tank shell and all, I was too lazy to bother with the shells as I thought it be a good bit of excercise for the bn's to get into the middle (like eaten a java lmfao). But seriously can the shells make them sick or will it just stop them eating them?l
Caryl
I think the shells are too tough for them to digest and may cause a blockage.
sharn
as caryl said they can block the fish up. it wont always but its better to be safe than sorry and its not too hard to pop them out of the shells
