fishboi
what i would do is first get rid of the under ground filter and just get a proper filter. my 250L runs on a Eheim aquaball 2212 and its crystal clear. or if u can afford it a canister, silent
K R Brown
new to the game how does it work?
beachy
You could try running the u.g filter with a couple of power heads, it will be totally silent.
Caryl
Although I am a fan of UGF in small tanks, I feel a 250L needs more, like an external canister filter.
K R Brown
got fluvel in all our tanks just want something to run UGF also
maran
I am a fan of having UGF in all my tanks as a back up. So have a canister filter, but just in case it stops working, there is always the UGF keeping the good bugs safe and alive. I say that cos I read somewhere that if the filter stays in a large body of water, then even if the power is out for few hours and filter doesn't work, the bugs stay alive for a wee few hours in it. Caryl
Since I have external canisters I am sorry I can't recommend a suitable pump except to say buy the biggest you can afford.
Zoban
I like the Tetra Whisper air pumps. Wide base and thick rubber feet. Have been replacing all my air pumps with them since I bought the first one. I also run Cannister or OHF's on tanks along side of the UGF.
