red tailed sharks

hi, ive been clearing my 300L tank to make way for some redtailed sharks, ive been reading they are fine together as long as you have more than 2. after a trip to both of the LFS yesterday im not to sure if its a good idea, most of the sharks had shredded fins, im wondering if its from fighting, they are in small tanks which i guess could be a problem, does anyone have any thoughts on this or keep a group of sharks? my tank is well planted & has heaps of hiding places. im thinking if they are not constantly in each others line of sight the may be ok???

Neons only school when they're nervous/scared. Once they settle in they just seperate out. My male neons tend to fight a lot, although no damage is done.

I love Clown Loaches, might be worth looking in to, similar type of fish to the shark but much more friendly and playful and they hang out in groups. Although the sleeping thing freaks me out.

I just got Kribensis, they're awesome. I would LOVE some blue rams, and some cockatoo apisto etc Month or so away yet as the oscar is growing big very quick, and need a 300L+ tank for him, leaving a spare 200L tank 8) altho Helen will probably thief it for baby oscars :o

Red-Striped Eartheater (Geo)

I've seen some juvenilles in real life before, funky fish alright, and you'd have clean substrate 8) Only thing that would concern me is the size they get to (30cm).

Being more peaceful in nature than most cichlids of this size, they are more suitable for large community tanks as they will not bother smaller fish. However, this peacefulness makes them less suited to tanks containing other large, more aggressive fish. When in situations like this, they tend to spend a lot of time hiding and can become stressed very easily.

red tails are notorious for not liking each other or other fish that have red/orange on their bodies  i have mine in with my tiger oscar, a severum and a small pleco and hes fine, he is the smallest though and if he even thinks about annoying someone they put him in his place real quick  i find they are great cleaners for larger fish like oscars who throw alot out their gills, their small mouths arent able to eat big cichlid foods so he gets the gill leftovers and novo bits, hes also too small to be eaten properly (though he could be disposed of quickly if my O decided he wanted Flip gone).

Geos are really neat fish, not sure if theyd eat smaller tankmates but they love to dig so need special substrate (like larger grain sand or smooth stones i think). they do get around 30cm but are absolutly stunning
