I Look forward to participating and learning heaps from every one here!
Robbo
Hi Craig, welcome to the website. I joined this morning myself so cannot tell you too much. I too have a 100L hexagonal tank. Is yours vertical more than horizontal? What sort of fish are you planning to put in? Cheers for now Robbo

I too have a 100L hexagonal tank. Is yours vertical more than horizontal? What sort of fish are you planning to put in? Robbo Yeah, My tank is more vertical but not by a lot. At the moment I'm thinking of starting out with a few comits (Goldfish) I should really light up the tank to the hilt and get a better photo. Hi Sue, greetings from northland - this is a great forum, you'll enjoy it what sort of fish do you want to put in the tank? I've got some spare guppies Thanks for the offer sue, at the moment I think i'll just go for goldfish to begin with. I plan on getting another tank later on to go tropical as I quite like the Red Tail Shark.

CraigJ
Hi everyone, first off, thanks for the welcomes. Look forward to making regular visits here. Robbo/All: I'll be sure to get some great photo's of the tank once the fish go in. All going well I should be getting a few comits in the next couple of days. Andrew: Would love some information on the club. Sound's like a great way to get to know some people with the same interest (without getting odd looks. MGilchrist: I can see how the growth can happen. I would like to eventually setup a Tropical Tank aswell. though I figured seeing as it's my first time with an Aquarium I'd stick to cold water. Don't know if it's any easier or harder than a tropical but figured it was a good place to start. Cat: Defenately interested in the club. And I'll be sure to keep you all up to date on how things are progessing. I'll make sure the lighting over the tank is better too for the photo once fishies are in their new home. Tracey: Can't really comment on Wet Pets as it's pretty much the only "Fishy" shop i've delt with so can't really compare them to anyone else. but I have to agree it is a great shop. Why not get in touch early next week and I'll be happy to fill you in on the club and give you a membership form etc. We're going to the Napier Aquarium and the seahorse farm on Oct 4th if you'd like to come along. I can give you details of that too. My contact details are in my profile here or in the CLUBS section (both for PNAS and NZKA). Later, Andrew. Caryl
I would like to suggest that as those comets grow you might want to think about a different shaped tank. Hexagonal tanks are OK for fancy goldfish with long fins as they move slowly and don't swim about so much but comets are streamlined and like to zip along. A wider tank would suit them better when they are bigger.
Robbo
Hi Craig, good looking tank is right. What is the small tank to the right-hand side ???? What future plans are you hiding ??? Cheers Robbo
CraigJ
Hi Robbo, Hi Craig, good looking tank is right. What is the small tank to the right-hand side ???? What future plans are you hiding ??? Thanks, The little tank i'm either going to use as a Quarantine or as the inital tank for a Red Tailed Shark (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor). Though I have started saving for a larger tank to setup as a tropical fresh water.

A wider tank would suit them better when they are bigger. Thanks for the advice. I will take a note of that. I would like to eventually have a couple of larger "rectangle" tanks. I had a feeling as I learn more I'd be making changes to the setup etc..

Just been reading a post about a hobbyist that has spawned the RTBS after three or four years trying. Has 60 to 70 fry swimming around at the moment. I thought that these hadn't been spawned in captivity ..?
